A friend of mine wrote this poem in New York in 1963; I'd like to share it with you here. Please let me know your thoughts. It certainly resonated with me.
Decision
When I first wanted you
I baited and schemed
And lay in wait
Then our hands met
And I needed you
(When the thrill coursed through),
And I turned my head
And cursed myself and said
I didn't want you.

Sounds like a classic example of getting exactly what you want, and then regretting it. Been there, for sure.
